Top state-level IT projects to be honored
Group that represents state-level CIO's announces finalists for 10 awards
A group that represents state-level chief information officers has named this year’s finalists for its annual awards program that honors states’ information technology programs.
The National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO) today announced 33 state-level IT programs in 10 categories that its awards committee chose as finalists for its 2010 Recognition Awards for Outstanding Achievement in the Field of Information Technology in State Government. One program will be picked as the winner in each category and will be honored at NASCIO’s annual conference to be held in Miami on Sept. 27, NASCIO said.
According to NASCIO, the awards emphasize IT programs that exemplify best practices, support the public policy goals of state leaders, help government officials innovate in executing their duties, and provide cost-effective service to people.
The committee picked the finalists from more than 130 nominees, NASCIO said. Details of all nominated projects are available on NASCIO’s Web site. The ten categories are:
