IBM gets into mobile management with MobileFirst
With smart phones and tablets becoming ubiquitous and the push for Bring Your Own Device policies in government agencies, many companies, IBM included, are rolling out mobile management platforms.
IBM MobileFirst is an all-encompassing mobile platform designed to connect mobile devices to enterprise applications and Web offerings. It offers a comprehensive management suite that gives a network administrator total control over devices, applications and services, the company said in its announcement.
The MobileFirst portfolio includes strategy and design services to help organizations plan their management of mobile devices, according to IBM. Other features include the MobileFirst platform itself, a management module, tools for ensuring secure transaction and analytics tools.
