Seculert upgrades in-cloud security with radar and a sandbox

Seculert is known for its cloud-based advanced threat protection solution of the same name. It's one of the new breed of programs designed to visualize the cloud and advanced networks to help those charged with protection. The new version 2.0 of the program, which is debuting at the Black Hat hacker convention this week, ups the ante with a much more precise visual radar to map out attacks an updated application programming interface and a new sandbox mode where malware is allowed to execute within a safe environment so that it can be studied and defeated.

The cloud-based Elastic Sandbox where malware is introduced, examined and profiled also comes with new options for data analysis. Users examining malware samples can now select increments of time and different geo locations with which to analyze their sample.

“Our Elastic Sandbox is a natural progression for our cloud-based [software-as-a-service] solution. It is the only truly ‘elastic’ sandbox available that allows malware to evolve over long periods of time, and not just run for a couple of minutes.” said Seculert CTO Aviv Raff in a release.

Seculert’s new user interface is now more intuitive and enhances the user experience, putting data about advanced threats instantly at the user’s fingertips, the company said. With the new API, users will be able to better visualize the API calls and data manipulation. Through easy integration of the API and existing on-premises products, IT managers can transform their current security defenses into a complete advanced threat protection solution,

Seculert’s program runs in the cloud. From the moment of activation, Seculert identifies existing infections and detects unknown malware inside and outside an internal network, including remote sites, employees and even on personal mobile devices. Using patented Botnet Interception technology, Elastic Sandbox technology and big data analytics, Seculert fully leverages the power of the cloud to combat today’s advanced threats.

Designed specifically for government organizations, Seculer’s Advanced Threat Protection Solution lets agencies simply and cost-effectively transform their existing security defenses into a complete solution for detecting and stopping malware attacks. Existing customers will automatically be upgraded to the new dashboard and API.
