Firm offers Web-based HR modules for government

CivicPlus, which specializes in government website development, is offering what it said is the only software to focus solely on human resources applications for local government.

The Manhattan, Kan.-based developer of local government websites, said its new CivicHR suite aims to simplify “HR processes associated with hiring and engagement that will help communities perform at their best.”

CivicHR is the only software developed directly “for helping governments recruit, hire and engage employees with personalized customer-service and simple implementation,” according to the developer.

The CivicHR software offers four modules, including programs for applicant tracking, employee onboarding, performance management and a general human resources portal. CivicHR offers them as bundled or standalone programs, the company said.

CivicHR product manager Jonathan Weirsma said the company wants its modules to tend to the needs of agency administration, “so HR professionals can focus on people and not administrative tasks.”

The company said its mission is to “help make local government work better,” and has been building custom human resources Web applications in the U.S., Australia and Canada since 2001.

CivicPlus has recently performed website upgrades for Minnesota’s Anoka County government, Panama City, Fla.’s local government website, and the site of the City of Troy, Ohio.
