    Speaking the same language

Two bits of news from a recent meeting held by the Service Oriented Architecture Community of Practice:

Members of the SOA and the Semantic Interoperability Communities of Practice have set up a new Web site, Semantic Community, to support the events concerning Web 2.0, enterprise mashups, SOA and the Semantic Web. It's all about helping government make the most of these new-fangled technologies in order to better execute their missions. There are links to a few PowerPoint tutorials and even some demos (you can toy with MindTouch's "service-oriented Wiki" for instance). More to come no doubt.

Also, Torrey Androski announced that the National Academy of Public Administration is looking for federal chief information officers to participate in a new working group, the Collaboration Community of Practice. It's about technology, but also about the management of technology.
