Cybersecurity Survey Demographics

The 1105 Government Information Group’s Cybersecurity Survey was fielded in February 2009, and received a total of 99 valid responses. Of those in government who chose to participate, 42% were from defense-related agencies, 28% of the respondents were from federal civilian government agencies, and 16% were from state and local government organizations.



In terms of job function, nearly half (48%) work in senior technical management, either in engineering, network management or computer/communications management. Another 15% work in CXO-level executive management or command positions and 22% of those who responded were in agency or department management posts, or in agency operations management, including program/project management, or administrative posts.

A total of 6% of respondents were in procurement, purchasing or personnel training, and 9% of those who participated in this survey had job titles outside this list.
