David S. Spence
Wyatt Kash, an award-winning, 25-year veteran of business-to-business journalism, joined Government Computer News as editorial director Oct. 4. Kash is the fourth editor in the magazine's nearly 22-year history.
'We are lucky to land an editor of Wyatt Kash's abilities and experience,' said Thomas R. Temin, editor in chief of PostNewsweek Tech Media, which publishes GCN and Washington Technology. 'He is both a fine craftsman and a strategic thinker who knows how to make publications connect deeply with readers.'
Kash comes to GCN from Hanley-Wood LLC of Washington, which publishes magazines serving executives in the home-building industry. He was editor of Big Builder magazine as well as publisher of a group of eight online publications in the building, remodeling and building plans fields. Before joining Hanley-Wood in 2000, Kash spent 20 years at Lebhar-Friedman Inc. of New York, where he held increasingly responsible editorial jobs leading to publisher of National Home Center News.
Kash has won numerous awards from the American Society of Business Press Editors and the American Business Media.
He is a graduate of the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, where he majored in magazine journalism. He and his wife and two children live in Northern Virginia.
