The GCN Best of FOSE 2006

Judges from GCN and sister publication Washington Technology examined roughly 200 nominated products to name 13 GCN Best of FOSE winners and two grand-prize Best of Show winners. The three-day show, the 30th edition of FOSE, was staged by GCN's parent company PostNewsweek Tech Media.

The Best of Show winners were:

  • Altiris Software Virtualization Solution, application management software
  • Kodak Scan Station 100, a computer-less office scanner.

The other Best of FOSE winners:

  • American Power Conversion InfraStruXure InRow RC, a data center cooling device
  • Attila Technologies Intelligent Multi Network Mobile Communicator, a portable mesh radio system
  • EDAC Systems VeriDact, an enterprise document redaction program
  • Hewlett-Packard Officejet Pro K550, a laser-quality inkjet printer
  • Iocell VaccineDrive/LiveCall USB, a key drive with built-in antivirus protection
  • Itronix GoBook VR-1, a semi-rugged laptop
  • Kyos TransFORM, forms processing software
  • Palm Treo 700w, a Microsoft Windows-based handheld device
  • Panasonic Toughbook Arbitrator, an in-car digital video system
  • RIM BlackBerry Smart Card Reader, a Bluetooth-enabled wireless Personal Identity Verification reader
  • SEPATON S2100-ES2, a virtual tape library storage solution
  • Stellent Site Studio, content management software
  • Sun Fire 'Galaxy' X64 Server, a low-power, AMD Opteron-based server.
