Development tool software vendor Altova has released UModel 2007, a design tool for building Uniform Modeling Language-based models. This version supports Version 2 of UML and additional diagram types. It also allows developers to generate schemas from Java and C# binary files and add hyperlinks to other models. Starting at $129, UModel provides a low-cost UML modeling alternative to IBM's Rational Rose, said Tim Hale, director of marketing at Altova.
