GCN tech brief

The College of Engineering at the University of Missouri-Columbia has received a $10 million contract from the Defense Department to develop a variety of products based on nanotechnology. The five-year contract will focus primarily on alternative energy sources and sensors that can detect biological and chemical weapons. Last July, the department received a $3.5 million, two-year contract to build miniature devices to enhance the performance of U.S. Army weapons systems.
