Product spotlight: 500-gigabyte flash drive that fits in palm of your hand

IF YOU FIND that your flash drive never has enough storage, you might want to check out Other World Computing's Mercury On-the-Go 500GB. It's a palm-sized, 5,400-rpm portable drive that offers, yes, 500 gigabytes of storage.

The device also sports FireWire 800, FireWire 400 and USB ports for connections. The drives ship with a carrying case; cables for all interfaces; specific on-the-go model supports; Prosoft DataRescue III for Mac OS X; and NovaStor NovaBackup for Windows.

All drives are covered by a one-year warranty and are compatible with Mac OS Versions 8.5 through 9.2.x; OS X 10.0.3 and higher (including the latest OS 10.5.x); and Microsoft Windows 98SE, ME, 2000, XP and Vista. The 500GB model carries a list price of $360.
