Abraham Klinger

Abraham Klinger has risen rapidly from serving as a summer intern while pursuing a degree in computer science to project manager in just six years at the Midway Research Center.

The MRC, under the auspices of the Naval Center for Space Technology, provides NRL with state-of-the-art facilities dedicated solely to space-related applications in Navy communications, navigation and basic research. Klinger leads a team of government employees, contractors from nine companies and interns on the Midway Research Center's Infrastructure Upgrade project, whose goal is upgrading the command- and-control system used to maneuver MRC's three 60-foot antenna systems. Officials expect the software generated by this effort to reduce long-term maintenance costs of the systems.

Klinger's composed leadership style lets him work well with young employees and experienced developers, said MRC Director Windie Borodin.
