Technology that helps share helps best

How should agencies invest information technology dollars in 2009? The Association for Federal Information Resources Management (AFFIRM) asked 86 senior IT officials and managers to identify technology investments that would most improve the performance of government agencies. Information sharing and collaboration topped the list.

The top-five ranking areas:

Cross agency information sharing and collaboration

Information sharing and privacy

Critical infrastructure sustainability and continuity

Government management

Transparent, citizen-centric government

NOTE: Percentages do not add up to 100 because participants were asked to pick their top three choices from a list.
