Government probably scans more documents than almost any other sector, not only because of efforts to convert files to electronic formats, but because running government requires a lot of documentation. Even branch offices may require a high-capacity scanner. That is where the new PS456U departmental scanner from Plustek Technology comes into the picture.
Plustek has released its SmartOffice PS456U, a departmental-class, 80 page-per-minute duplex-color document scanner with an 8,000-page-per-day duty cycle.
The scanner can handle mixed batches of documents, including various sizes and weights of paper, plastic cards such as drivers’ licenses and even log documents up to 98 inches long. It allows users to turn documents into searchable PDFs, Microsoft Office formats and common image formats such as JPEG and TIFF, the company said.
The Plustek SmartOffice PS456U is available from authorized Plustek resellers for a suggested retail price of $849.
