GCN FOSSE Product Awards

Finalists and winners
were chosen by GCN technical editors. Products
were divided into 10 categories. Vendors entered products
and chose the category in which they wanted to compete.
From more than 200 entries, five finalists were chosen
for each category. From these finalists, winners were
chosen. Judging was then done by GCN technical
editors, who evaluated the products independent of each
other. Each product was judged according to four
criteria: innovation; usability; features and
specifications; and value. Ratings were then tabulated
and products with the highest number of rating points
were named winners.

Nine of the
winning products were showcased at GCN LAB LIVE during
FOSE’97, March 18-20. Also appearing at LAB LIVE was
Ted Waitt, Gateway 2000 chairman and CEO. He spoke about
what future products Gateway was going to make available
to government customers.
