Network Integrity Inc. has added transactional safeguards for database files and
support for Novell Btrieve and GroupWise databases to its LANtegrity 4.0 for NetWare
package.


The real-time data protection software supports symmetric multiprocessing servers and
user-controlled system utilization. The Marlborough, Mass., company prices LANtegrity 4.0
at $6,995 for 100 users.

The Replicator 2, a CD-ROM recorder and duplicator from Cygnet Storage Solutions Inc.
of San Jose, Calif., makes up to 150 copies of CDs. Cygnet configures the dual-drive
Replicator 2 with up to two Teac CD-recordable drives and an internal hard drive. A
dual-drive system is $8,800, a single-drive system $7,800.

Canadian software developer Virtual Prototypes Inc. of Montreal has released a version
of the VAPS tool suite for specifying, testing, simulating and deploying real-time, 2-D
graphical user interfaces.


VAPS 5.0 generates ANSI C source code, which programmers can compile and download to
target systems. They also can edit multiple frames simultaneously and use the OpenGL
standard graphics library.


The VAPS tool suite, priced from $5,500, runs under Silicon Graphics Irix, SunSoft
Solaris and Microsoft Windows NT 4.0.
