CIO Council will slowly take over IRMCO

The Chief Information Officers Council will co-sponsor the Interagency Resources
Management Conference in Virginia Beach, Va., in the fall.

The council decided to jointly manage IRMCO with the General Services Administration,
which has run the conference for many years. The council will slowly merge IRMCO into a
CIO Council event. As part of the co-sponsorship, agency CIOs will hold discussion panels.

Treasury CIO and CIO Council vice chairman James Flyzik said during the May CIO meeting
that the conference provides “a good focal point event to disseminate IRM policy
change to the [information technology] community.”

The CIO Council will also encourage IT executives to become active in the conference,
he said. More information about the conference, set for Sept. 1-4, is at
