Lee confirmed as OFPP head

The Office of Federal Procurement Policy officially has a new
administrator.

The Senate approved the nomination of Deidre A. Lee last month. The Office of
Management and Budget job had been vacant for 11 months, since Steven Kelman left the post
to return to Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.

Before coming to OFPP, Lee was NASA’s associate administrator for procurement.

Lee said during her confirmation hearings that one of her first tasks will be to take
procurement reform to the next level. “Many of these reforms are still in their
infancy,” she said. “A challenge to the administrator will be to steer the ship
and make course corrections when needed, while supporting the work force so that they can
continue to innovate and move forward.”
