The Visa Cash card pictured in the Aug. 10 issue of GCN
with a story about smart-card pay for recruits at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, is not
the same Visa card being used in the program. NationsBank Corp. of Charlotte, N.C., issues
the stored-value Visa Cash card for the Texas recruits.

An article in the Aug. 3 issue quoted a Federal
Emergency Management Agency computer specialist who said FEMA has standardized on
Microsoft Windows 98 for all new PCs. FEMA chief information officer Clay Hollister said
he is still evaluating Win98’s pros and cons and will make a recommendation to the
agency’s Information Review Board this fall.

Until then, Hollister said, FEMA will continue to buy new PCs with Windows 95 and
Office 97 installed.
