Transportation bureau awards

The Transportation Statistics Bureau recently awarded a $50 million contract to
Vistronix Inc. of Vienna, Va., for systems services.

The agency will issue task orders under the indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity
contract, said Walter Manning, the bureau’s assistant director for IT and
contracting.

Vistronix will provide a variety of services, including software and database design,
product research, geographic information systems support and training.

The Transportation Statistics Bureau maintains travel data and produces studies such as
an annual report for Congress and the American Travel Survey, which recounts statistics
about trips in the United States of more than 100 miles.
