Brian Burns is the new deputy CIO for HHS

The Health and Human Services Department turned to the IRS to fill its vacant deputy assistant secretary for IRM job.

Brian Burns, who was the IRS' former project director for telecommunications, started his new job as HHS' deputy chief information officer Aug. 16.

Burns replaced Neil Stillman, who retired in May after 34 years of federal service, which included stints with the Air Force and Defense Intelligence Agency [GCN, May 10, Page 58].
