SSA seeks Adams' successor

The Social Security Administration has tapped Charles Wood to temporarily fill the post of assistant deputy commissioner for systems left vacant last month by Kathleen M. Adams.

Wood is the associate commissioner for system design and development. The agency has begun a search for a permanent replacement, said D. Dean Mesterharm, deputy commissioner for systems. SSA hopes to fill Adams' post by year's end, he said.

Adams, a 25-year federal employee, accepted a buyout and is now vice president of strategic accounts for the government group at SRA International Inc. of Arlington, Va. [GCN, Aug. 23, Page 3].
