For two-year bridge services contract, Sprint cuts government FTS 2000 prices

Sprint Corp. has slashed government rates under its FTS 2000 bridge contract by one-third for voice service and more than half for frame relay. The new rates, good through December 2000, equal the lower rates proposed for the carrier's FTS 2001 contract.

Sprint, along with AT&T Corp., provided government users with long-distance services under FTS 2000. The FTS 2000 contracts expired last December. The two-year bridge contract supports agencies during their transition to the FTS 2001 contracts held by Sprint and MCI WorldCom Inc.

The new rates cover the full range of Sprint services on FTS 2000 and are effective retroactively to Sept. 1.
