Package gets an upgrade for faster Athlon processors and Pentium III

Dragon Systems Inc.'s NaturallySpeaking 4 voice recognition package will run on the new Athlon processor from Advanced Micro Devices Inc. of Sunnyvale, Calif.

The package can browse the Web with Microsoft Internet Explorer by voice commands.

Dragon Systems of Newton, Mass., redesigned the software to take advantage of new instructions in the Intel Pentium III and AMD Athlon processors and improve accuracy and speed.

Version 4 of NaturallySpeaking in the Standard, Essentials, Preferred and Preferred Universal Serial Bus editions are available now, as are the Professional, Mobile and Mobile Organizer versions.

International language versions and NaturallySpeaking Legal and Medical suites are scheduled to appear later this year.

What's needed

The voice recognition application requires Microsoft Windows 9x or Windows NT, a 200-MHz Pentium processor or its equivalent, and 48M of RAM for Win9x and 64M of RAM for NT. A CD-ROM drive and 200M of free storage are necessary for installation.
