FedBens software calculates and displays retirement benefits for federal employees

Federal managers who counsel employees about retirement benefits have a custom tool at their disposal.

Called FedBens, the software calculates federal benefits and shows employees what they are entitled to.

Robert Benson, the author, said the Defense Supply Center in Columbus, Ohio, installed the retirement module on a LAN and saw traffic grow immediately.

Benson has written other programs for dealing with human relations issues in the federal workplace, he said. A sample of his work is posted on the Web, at www.opm.gov/asd/htm/mildep.htm.

FedBens runs standalone under Microsoft Windows or MS-DOS, or as a networked application.
