Compaq's Newgaard to leave
Gary Newgaard, vice president of Compaq Computer Corp.'s federal division, has resigned effective this Friday.
Newgaard's resignation letter stated that he is leaving to pursue 'new personal business endeavors,' Compaq spokeswoman Janet Dean said. The company has not named a replacement, she said.
Newgaard assumed the vice presidency of the Reston, Va., division in November 1998 after Compaq absorbed Digital Equipment Corp. He has been with Compaq for 15 years. Before becoming a vice president, Newgaard was director of federal sales and marketing.
