Template's tool integrates office applications

Business-process software from Template Software Inc. of Dulles, Va., lets users drag and drop objects to model their organization's rules and procedures.

Business Process Template works in conjunction with another package from the same company, Enterprise Integration Template 9.0, which creates composite business objects from data drawn from multiple applications, said Ben Martindale, Template Software's executive vice president. Users then build workflow applications on top of the integrated information with Business Process Template.

Martindale said the steps of a business process are fairly easy to map out and deploy with little or no programming.

Business Process Template is available for Microsoft Windows NT and four versions of Unix: SunSoft Solaris, IBM AIX, Hewlett-Packard HP-UX and Compaq Tru64 Unix.

The software lists for $50,000 per server; desktop PC client software is free.

Martindale said the server product is not yet listed on the General Services Administration's Information Technology Schedule.
