Quantum has 40G Snap Server

Quantum Corp.'s Snap Server line of network-attached storage devices now includes 40G models, up from 32G maximum.

A Snap Server consists of a hard drive, controller and preloaded software, with power and Ethernet connections on the back. The server appliance works with PCs, Apple Macintoshes, and Unix, Linux and Novell NetWare operating systems.

The Milpitas, Calif., company picked up the product line when it acquired Meridian Data Inc. of Scotts Valley, Calif.

Retail prices are $999 for the 20G model and $1,499 for the 40G version.
