ATF recognizes its top systems specialists

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and GCN honored 17 ATF employees for excellence in systems development, management and implementation.

The employees received their awards at a recent GCN Forum luncheon in Washington:

Andy Bailey, Shelia Fitzgerald, Mike Park and Brian Wormley, computer specialists in the Software Management Branch, for their work on programming, deployment, training and documentation for the N-Focis application used by 3,000 users throughout the bureau.

Steve Boyer, computer specialist in the Networks Management Branch, for monitoring and troubleshooting the bureau's networks.

Jonathan Gonzaga, computer specialist in the Software Management Branch, for supporting bureau Web applications and maintaining existing apps.

Steve Jackson, computer specialist in the Networks Management Branch, for implementing networked office systems.

Louise Lucas, telecommunications specialist in the Networks Management Branch's Data Section, for her analytical work on integrating network and data communications at ATF offices nationwide.

Kathleen Perkins, computer specialist in the Networks Management Branch, for her work on the Frame Relay Network Upgrade Project.

Ron Sampson, deputy year 2000 program manager, and Judy Walters, year 2000 program manager, for managing the date code remediation of the bureau's systems.

James Sherwood, computer specialist in the Networks Management Branch, for his service as the bureau's lead systems technician.

Flora Stokes, computer specialist in the Software Management Branch, for her efforts in a series of ongoing systems projects.

Steve Suda, telecommunications specialist in the Networks Management Branch's Data Section, for managing multiple bureau LANs and its WAN.

Rhonda Virgil and Debbie Walton, telecommunications specialists in the Networks Management Branch, for their work on a recent realignment of telecom services at the bureau's headquarters.

Andy Weisburger, computer specialist in the Networks Management Branch, for implementing and leading several branch projects.
