MAY 1'The Army Small Computer Program has extended a blanket purchasing agreement with Dell Computer Corp.
Army buyers will receive discounts of 15 percent to 20 percent off the company's General Services Administration schedule contract pricing on PCs, servers and storage products, said Yvonne Jackson, the program's former chief.
Officials at Fort Shafter, Hawaii, first negotiated the BPA in April 1999 and will continue to manage it, she said.
The renewal came as Jackson was preparing to leave her post. She stepped down last week as manager of the Army Communications-Electronics Command's Small Computer Program at Fort Monmouth, N.J.
Tom Leahy, the acting deputy product manager, will take over until CECOM names a new manager. Jackson is going back to school and will participate in the Senior Service College Fellowship Program at the University of Texas in Austin.
