Drabkin to head GSA's Office of Acquisition Policy

JUNE 5—The General Services Administration has named David A. Drabkin as the new deputy associate administrator for acquisition policy for the Office of Governmentwide Policy. Drabkin starts his new job today.

Drabkin has held a number of acquisition and legal posts around the government. Most recently, he was deputy program manager for the Defense Department's $3.4 billion Pentagon renovation project.

As the head of GSA's acquisition office, he will be responsible for guiding the agency's procurement system and will assist ongoing efforts to streamline federal acquisition policies and regulations.

Drabkin replaces Ida M. Ustad, who died last year after a long battle with cancer [see story at www.gcn.com/vol18_no38/community/1074-1.html].
