Drabkin takes GSA post

The General Services Administration has named David A. Drabkin deputy associate administrator for acquisition policy for the Office of Governmentwide Policy. He started the job on June 1.

Drabkin has held many federal acquisition and legal posts. Most recently, he was deputy program manager for the Defense Department's $3.4 billion Pentagon renovation project.

He will be responsible for guiding GSA's procurement system and will lead the agency's efforts to streamline federal acquisition policies and regulations.

Drabkin fills the post long held by the late Ida M. Ustad.
