USPS garners Web honors

The Postal Service recently received two awards at the 11th World Mail Awards 2000 ceremony in Paris.

USPS' Electronic Merchandise Return Service received the Internet Commerce Award for its use of the Web to support companies' merchandise return processes. The Postal Service offers online retailers an application programming interface. Customers can download prepaid postage labels from the retailers' Web sites.

The USPS FASTForward address management database won the Innovation Award. It lets mailers compare address changes against the Postal Service's address database.
