Agencies set schedule deal

The Small Business Administration and the General Services Administration have reached an agreement that will let agencies get credit for buys from small businesses under Multiple-Award Schedule contracts.

Previously, GSA had to submit each schedule buy to SBA so that an agency would get credit for it if it was an 8(a) purchase. Because of this, agencies rarely included such buys when tallying purchases that helped them meet their 8(a) procurement goals.

Under the new agreement, agencies will be able to directly count purchases made through Federal Supply Service schedule contracts held by small businesses.
