Module for use with Windows version of GIS software is certified by NIMA



The Imagine NITF module for the Microsoft Windows version of Erdas Imagine 8.4 geographic image processing software from Erdas Inc. of Atlanta has received certification for compatibility with the National Imagery Transmission Format Standard 2.0.

The National Imagery and Mapping Agency maintains the NITF standard and verifies compliance using the Joint Interoperability Test Command's NITFS test facility at Fort Huachuca, Ariz.

NITF files can share their images and associated text, symbols and labels across dissimilar systems.

Erdas Imagine Mapper sells for $2,768, at www.GSAAdvantage.gov, the General Services Administration's online buying site.
