CSC snares Medicare contract

The Health Care Financing Administration has awarded Computer Sciences Corp. a five-year, $26.8 million contract to support Medicare processing.

As the new Western Integrity Center Program Safeguard Contractor, CSC will support operations for Medicare Part B'supplemental medical insurance'in 11 states: Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Hawaii, Iowa, Nevada, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington and Wyoming. CSC also will support Medicare Part A operations'hospital insurance'in Minnesota and North Dakota.

The company's civil group, based in Falls Church, Va., will perform medical reviews, data analysis and integrity checks, including the review of post-payment medical records.
