AFFIRM elects Ira Hobbs president

SEPT. 25—The Association for Federal Information Resource Management recently elected Ira L. Hobbs as president.

"I am looking forward to a very exciting, challenging and productive year," said Hobbs, deputy chief information officer at the Agriculture Department. "AFFIRM is an organization where industry and government professionals come together to share knowledge and insights, and build the kind of relationships that are invaluable as we all try to stay abreast of the rapidly changing information technology landscape. AFFIRM members know that knowledge-sharing is power."

The association also elected six additional officers:

  • Vice president: Emory Miller, director of information technology professional development at the General Services Administration
  • Co-vice presidents for programs: Steve Hufford, manager of the Environmental Protection Agency's Systems Development Center, and Harold Klink, vice president of SI International Inc. of Vienna, Va.
  • Secretary: Kenneth Touloumes, an official of AverStar Inc. of Burlington, Mass.
  • Co-treasurers: Ernesto Castro, special assistant for major systems liaison at the Veterans Affairs Department, and Leslie Barry, director of business development at Computer Sciences Corp.
