EPA considers an e-filing reg

The Environmental Protection Agency is reviewing a proposal to establish a process for regulated companies to use digital signatures and file data electronically.

A final rule won't be issued for at least a year, said Don Flattery, director of the Office of Environmental Information's outreach and communications staff.

The move will keep EPA on track to have regulated companies report electronically under all major environmental programs by the end of 2002, he said.
