Deputy will succeed Gormley

The General Services Administration last week named Carolyn Alston to succeed Federal Supply Service assistant commissioner William N. Gormley, who will retire from government next month to become senior vice president of Washington Management Group. Alston has been Gormley's deputy.

At FSS, Gormley has helped broaden and modernize GSA's schedules program, whose sales are estimated at more than $12 billion for fiscal 2000.

'I am proud to have contributed to creating a government acquisition program through which the government works better and costs less,' he said in a statement.
