Postal Service opens Web store

NOV. 13'The Postal Service has added an online store to its Web site, at www.usps.com , through which customers may buy stamps and other items.

The Postal Store, which replaces the StampsOnline site, is open 24 hours a day, said Norm Cloher, online services manager.

The site includes user-friendly navigation tools and a secure shopping cart function. Orders are processed within 24 hours and delivered within three to five days, officials said.

The Postal Rate Commission today acceded to a Postal Service request for a penny increase in the price of a first-class stamp, to 34 cents, according to its Web site at www.prc.gov
