EPA telecom support work goes to STG

The Environmental Protection Agency has awarded a five-year, $70 million national telecommunications support contract to STG Inc. of Fairfax, Va.

STG will support EPA operations in Washington and at regional laboratories, offices and field sites. Services will include installation, operation and maintenance of telecom systems; operation of databases for the agency's directory assistance and locator systems; telecom network design and planning; voice over IP; and LAN and computer system support.

'It is up to each region to decide what services it needs,' said Phillip Foote, STG corporate executive vice president. 'Each will have its own requirements.'

STG replaces RS Information Systems Inc. of McLean, Va., on the contract.
