Web site links state residents to jobs data

One of North Carolina's most visited Web sites is its jobs page, at www.ncgov.com/asp/subpages/intention.asp?P=2&I=13.

The site provides information on state jobs as well as links to the state Commerce Department's JobLink Web site, at www.joblink.state.nc.us, the Employment Security Commission's Jobs and Career Navigator, at 149.168.175.36/navigator/jc, and U.S. Labor Department employment search engines.

Residents can search the state's site for North Carolina job opportunities by department, title and location. Job seekers can find state employment salary and benefits information on the site as well.

Even when there are no state job openings, because of the critical nature of some of the state's services it is necessary to keep resumes on file for quick hiring when jobs do open up. So many departments use the site to list job information to encourage job seekers to send resumes.

Residents can download state employment applications from the site. State employees also can access information on the site about how to file for unemployment benefits and compensation.
