FBI scrutinizes outsourcing LAN management

Mark Tanner
The FBI is looking to the Navy for ideas on how to manage its LANs.

FBI officials might outsource the bureau's PC operations in a setup similar to the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet program, said Mark Tanner, the FBI's information resources manager.

The bureau is considering outsourcing many services, Tanner said at the Federal Sources Inc. Outlook 2002 conference earlier this month in McLean, Va.
