Navy hires help to run its fleet systems shops

The Navy's Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center in San Diego has awarded a five-year, $15.6 million contract to Anteon Corp. to operate two computer facilities.

The Fairfax, Va., company will provide operations, maintenance, requirements analysis, systems and installation engineering, and configuration and data management services to SPAWAR's Combat Direction System Development and Evaluation Site and the Program Generation Center.

The development and evaluation site creates and manages ship combat directional systems. It maintains links to other command, control, computer, communications and intelligence test facilities.

The Program Generation Center consists of multiple computer clusters that support programming and software delivery for fleet programs.
