SPAWAR plans to modernize its financial apps

The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center in San Diego will modernize its financial processes by using Internet portal platforms designed by SAP Public Services Inc. of Wayne, Pa., and PricewaterhouseCoopers Inc. of New York.

Earlier this month, the SPAWAR Command center, one of four Navy enterprise modernization pilot sites, implemented mySAP Financials and mySAP Enterprise Collaboration Portal to improve asset management, financial management, program management, procurement and strategic planning.

The software will let the center better track project funding and develop timely financial and project reports, said Rik Pierson, director of the center's ERP Program Management Office.
