Senate confirms Defense logistics official

JULY 23'The Senate earlier this month confirmed Diane K. Morales to be deputy undersecretary of Defense for logistics and materiel readiness.
Morales, who was sworn in July 17, oversees Defense policy for materiel management, maintenance, supply chain integration, transportation, installations and environment.
She served as deputy assistant secretary of Defense for logistics from 1990 to 1993 and also was a member of the Civil Aeronautics Board. From 1981 through 1983, Morales was deputy assistant secretary for policy at the Interior Department.
More recently, she ran a consulting business.
