• Get it together. The Air Force's Air Mobility Command is using Unicenter TNG from Computer Associates International Inc. to consolidate its systems.

    Using Unicenter, the command's Network Operations and Security Center can manage e-mail for 65,000 users from one location. This has let the command relocate mail servers running Microsoft Exchange from 12 bases across the United States to its headquarters at Scott Air Force Base, Ill.

  • Taking care of business. The Navy's Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center in San Diego last month implemented mySAP Financial and mySAP Enterprise Collaboration Portal. The move is aimed at improving the center's asset, financial and program management, as well as procurement and strategic planning.

    Using the software from SAP Public Services Inc. of Washington will give the center's workers, business partners and other government agencies a single point of access for financial applications, information and services on the Web. The center processes $1.3 billion to $1.5 billion in research funding through its accounting systems.

    PricewaterhouseCoopers Inc. of New York installed the system. The San Diego center is the first of four Navy facilities slated to implement SAP systems.
