Tech group swings into fundraising

About 144 information technology professionals who are also members of the Women in Technology group in the Washington area took to the links earlier this month at the Westwood Country Club in Vienna, Va., for WIT's Second Annual Golf Tournament.

There was more to the event than a day off from work, though. The tournament raised funds for the WIT Girls in Technology Fund, which develops programs, concentrating on technology, math and science, for elementary and middle school girls in the region. The group also plans to expand support to high school students.
