New from Corel: an XP-to-2002 suite patch

The new Corel WordPerfect Office 2002 suite, reviewed recently by GCN [GCN, July 2, Page 36], has a patch so that users can properly load files from rival product Microsoft Office XP.

Instead of converting an XP file, WordPerfect Office 2002 currently returns an 'unknown file format' error message. Corel Corp. has advised users of a workaround that requires saving XP files in an older format before trying to open them in Office 2002.

The company has posted a patch at www.corel.com to make Office 2002 fully compatible with Office XP. To download it, click on the Support Page tab and follow the link to the Downloads section to find the WordPerfect Office 2002 patches.
