A $594 hub links devices in SANs

Bullet 600, a Fibre Channel hub from High Velocity Systems Inc. of Danbury, Conn., has six DB-9 ports for connecting devices in a storage area network.

The $594 hub transmits data at up to 1.06 Gbps. It comes with an embedded logic system that qualifies devices before giving them network access and bypasses faulty nodes.

Digital filtering removes the jitter from network signals. A front-side LED panel shows basic diagnostic information.
